Types of Baby Clothes - Mittens

Mittens are essentrial for newborn babies, so you'll probably want to have a pair ready in your hospital bag. They serve two purposes. The first is to keep their extremities warm, like their tiny fingers. The second is that babies have really thin, and sharp nails! They don't have much control over their arms when they're so little so they can scratch their own face, skin - or worse, eyeballs.

Many babies tend to stop wearing mittens around 3-6 months old. Just make sure you don't get anything too tight, or anything that restricts blood flow.
